"This pub has everything you could conceivably want, including a large, heated, outdoor beer-garden, genuinely friendly staff and grub that won a 'Pub Food of the Year' medal."
Lam Magazine
"“The Junction has slid into the role of neighbourhood gastropub like an old shoe – not that there’s anything beaten-up about it – but without any of the complacency that affects some of its competitors. Its three spaces (big wooden tables around the front bar, a spacious conservatory, and a leafy terrace for summer) make it ideal for long, leisurely lunches.

Welcoming staff never seem overrun or flustered. Menus change frequently, with a nice eye to seasonality, and are not over-long but still offer an attractive choice of inventive, consistently enjoyable dishes. On our last visit, cold roast chicken with parma ham, capers, croutons and an aioli dressing was a bright, impressively fresh summer salad, with a beguiling smokey flavour in the chicken.

Classic dishes are creatively handled too: we had a fine, generous bowl of moules mariniere, and beer-battered coley with mushy peas was a great – even light – version of fish and chips. The wine list is very well priced and user-friendly, and this CAMRA North London pub of the Year (2008) takes good care of its beer range, with regularly changing cask ales. Deuchar’s IPA and Addlestone’s cider are fixtures on the bar, while independent Cornish breweries (St. Austell, Sharp’s, Skinner’s, Wooden Hand) are particularly welcome guests. "

"The menu changes daily, but look out for the excellent vegetable soups and a killer chocolate cake."

"A fortnight ago I failed to mention The Junction in a sentence about Kentish Town pubs, which caused the management to throw a hissy fit at me while I was eating lunch. But just because I won't be going there again for a while (which is a pity because I like the garden and the staff) it doesn't mean you shouldn't."
Giles Coren, The Times
"A quality wine list and a couple of good ales lead the way to this heavenly gastro experience."
Edward Sullivan, Evening Standard
"The Junction Tavern is a wonderful place to spend a long, boozy Sunday afternoon."
Tom Parker Bowles, London Insights Magazine
"The soup was spring lawn green and tasted as good as it looked wheras my livers looked lively but tasted sublime, melting on my tongue like a 99 on a balmy afternoon."
Islington Magazine
"If you're in Kentish Town around lunchtime then I'd definately recommend the Junction Tavern. This is pub grub at its most sophisticated."
Caroline Ryder
"What elevates the food is good taste, top ingredients, and nearly flawless execution. Lovely service too."

"The garden tables of this gastropub have parasols and are heated but if the evening turns too chilly you can still enjoy the alfresco atmosphere in the conservatory. On the daily-changing menu there’s something for everyone – a bit of Spanish, a bit of steak, maybe some soba noodles. We’ve enjoyed guest ales from regional suppliers such as Tring Breweries here, and Addlestone’s cloudy cider. You’ll also find Deuchar’s IPA, San Miguel and a good wine list. "
